I’m Jory and I plan on walking the length of New Zealand. Using equipment I make and hunting along the way. And I would love to tell you more about it but gosh they make it hard to find a good app you can use to write a blog on your phone! !
I don’t know how this photo got here!
I was just trying to upload a profile pic but I am not going to try work out how to fix it or I might delete my post for a third time.
Anyway this is my blog where I will share the stories of my attempts to walk 3000km bare footed and hunter/gathering using (MOSTLY) stuff that I have made.
And seeing as I leave on September 1st I now have 6 months to be prepared for the challenge. So here are 6 life style changes I have made to help me adapt to life on the trail.
One: be Barefooted as much as I can
The easiest of all the changes shoes are smelly and gross….I just never get let into the movies now small loss
Two: floor sleeping
Actually one of the best things I could have done. So much space in my room and everywhere is your bed
Three: cold showers
(Pic not found)
Not always easy but great way to save power and you never spend long in there unless your….
Four: hand wash clothes
This is the washboard I made out of supple jack. Hand washing gives you a great workout in your cold shower and as long as you dont let it pile up not such a bad idea.
Five: get over coffee
This is a native berry (name not known) its seeds can be toasted and ground like coffee. It happens to grow on the side of my house….I have a problem.
Hello my name is jory and I’m a addict (hi jory). If there is one thing I don’t want it’s to be stuck in the bush somewhere and to run out of something I dont really need but freak out over it anyway because of withdrawals.
Six: get used to taking selfies
Just dont like them. Just nah…but blogging would be boring without the pics so here I am in a flax cloak
And for the ladies
